The USS Skate was the third nuclear powered submarine built, and the first class of nuclear powered submarines in the world. This class of 4 submarines was also the only class of US nuclear submarines without a hull optimized for underwater operations. Although small, this versatile class of twin-screwed submarines all had long services lives.

Skate is molded in the standard OKB manner; full hull with a keel mounted sprue running the length of the sub. Engraved surface details and no periscopes or other masts.

A small photoetch fret is included, with right and left handed five-bladed props and tiny resin prop hubs.

Skate does not include any instructions.
