Special Thanks

A very, special thanks certainly goes to Mr. Robert Guttman who was wise enough and generous enough to submit his father’s photographs to Navsource.org for the entire world to enjoy.  The two photographs of the USS Duxbury Bay AVP-38 tending to a PBM Mariner on the pontoon barge were taken by Robert Guttman’s father, Photographer’s Mate Second Class Paul D. Guttman.  Petty Officer Guttman was temporarily assigned to USS Bering Strait AVP-34 and several seaplane bombing and rescue squadrons and flew with them frequently taking photographs and video tape of their actions and the actions of the supporting commands, as well.

I will always owe great gratitude to Iron Shipwrights, Inc. for creating a USS Barnegat AVP-10 class model in 1/350 scale and for their blessing during my pursuit of creating conversion sets based on, and designed for, their resin model kit.

Continuing thanks goes to Navsource.org and their wonderful collection of photographs, specifications and histories of the ships of the United States Navy and the networking point for the original submitter of the inspiration photos and myself.
And finally, thank you to all of the members and sponsors at Modelwarships.com. DUXBAY-125
