The U-35 was one of the most modern subs the Germans had at the beginning of World War One. Even though it was one of relatively small compared to other sub types it proved to be a potent weapon in the hands of a capable Commander. During her career in the Atlantic the U-35 racked up an impressive record, sinking over 200 enemy ships totaling over 530,000 tons. This feat has yet to be equaled to this very day. | ||||||
This is a pretty simple kit, with only a few parts. But
don't let the simplicity fool you, it is well cast and can be made into
an impressive model. The hull and conning tower are one piece and the casting
is really nice. Vent holes and other surface detailing are well executed.
The photo etch fret includes the propellers, rudders, and railings. |

The instructions are well done and pretty detailed for
such a small kit.

Conclusions: Nicely cast and pretty well detailed for such a small kit. This should be an easy build for even a first time resin builder. This kit has a list price of $37.95. Check out Patrick Roach's U-35 in the Gallery for one example of what is possible with this kit. |
