Gearing Class DDR conversion

| Hot on the heels of the successful 1/350 USS Gearing, Dragon is releasing another version of that kit. This one is a DDR radar picket conversion of the ship. The USS Chevalier had her torpedo tubes removed and replaced with a large tripod mast bristling with radar antennas. These ships were converted in anticipation of the invasion of Japan to warn of impending air attack. Chevalier in shown in the art above in Tokyo Bay. at the surrender ceremonies in September 1945. | ||||
