Neptun Metal Model
The Sims Class was a prewar design of 1500 tons authorized in 1937. They were an enlarged and improved version of the Gridley and Benham class. As built with their five 5" guns and triple torpedo launchers they were overweight and unstable. The solution was to remove the number three 5" gun and the third torpedo launcher. The second launcher was relocated to the centerline in what would become the standard arrangement for future classes of Destroyers. The Sims class were active in both theaters of the war and were active from the beginning to the end of the war.

This kit by Neptun represents the USS Morris after she was refitted with 20 mm, and 40 mm AA guns in 1943. This is the config that she carried for the rest of the war. This  little miniature measures out at barely 3-1/4", but it includes a lot of detail for a ship so small.
This ship is more detailed than many kits in larger scales. The kit is nicely painted in gray with black funnel top and brown whale boats. The position lights are painted green and red on either side fo the bridge.
Conclusions:

This is kit #1363a Morris and sells for $21.95 a great price for such a finely detailed miniature. US. Special thanks to Morning Sunshine Models for the review sample. In case you haven't noticed they have a huge selection of ships at great prices.
