The new Trumpeter Saratoga in it's prewar fit has been a big hit. Especially all those old Yellow wing aircraft on the decks. Until now there really haven't been any available bi-plane photo etch sets to spruce up the airwing. That's not a concern now, as Tom Harrison has stepped up to be the first. Tom's has been producing photo etch for biplanes in the non-ship scales for years. So he already had a library of resources to bring this set to market.

The set includes enough parts to detail all the aircraft included in the Saratoga kit and then some. If you are going to add more of any specific aircraft then you might want to consider getting another fret or two. There are also parts included for some of the new prewar aircraft not now included in the Saratoga kit. These will come in handy if you are doing a late 30's Sara or Lexington.

The set includes parts for the following aircraft:

F3F	Propellers and hub, struts, wheel rims (can also be used on F2F and F2A)
SBC	Propellers, hubs, struts, and wheel rims.
BFC	Propellers, struts, tail hook, and wheel rims.
SB2U	Propellers, flaps, wheel rims, radio mast, tail hook, and bomb sling
SBU	Propeller, struts, bomb sling, tail hook, and wheel rims.
TG-2	Propellers, struts, and wheel rims.

The instructions are three pages, with the parts that go with each aircraft listed. There are several views of each aircraft and the photo etch parts are shown with the plastic kit parts. Some aircraft views show plan and elevation and some a photo of the real aircraft.

Conclusions:

This set will is just the ticket for your Trumpeter "Yellow Wings". This is set #3562 1930"S Naval Aircraft with a retail price of $20.00 US. More than fair when you consider all the aircraft it will detail. Order online from Tom's Modelworks, or pick up a set whereever fine photo etch accessories are sold.
