This resin upgrade set is intended for any of the Revell "Box Scale" Essex SCB-27C or SCB-125 aircraft carrier kits- in fact, Revell has announced a re-release of the USS Shangri-La, CVA-38 later in 2013, and Revell-Germany has a USS Hornet CVS-12 re-release announced as well.

This hangar replacement set is comprised of 18 parts; four hangar deck pieces, and the 14 bulkhead/deck parts. These resin parts are all molded from a soft resin with a heavy coat of mold release, and some parts may need a bath in warm water to adjust the shape, as well as a thorough cleaning- as indicated by the directions.

As is fitting for the bulkheads, they have detail on both sides. The level and quality of these details appear to be an exact match for the old Renwal/Revell carriers.

There are no decals included in this kit.

There is a single, double-sided sheet of instructions included. Please read them carefully, as the bulk of the directions are in the text. Starfighter has included some great tips on using this set with this old plastic kit.

If you want to correct the poor fit and accuracy of an old kit, this set will take you most of the way to it!
