Intro | |||||||
Early in 2010, the 1/350 USS Wasp LHD-1 kit was released, and has now been followed by a 1/350 USS Iwo Jima. One of the landingcraft options included with these vessels are the Landing Craft, Air Cushion- the LCAC. The Wasp class LHD's can carry up to three of these rapid ship-to-shore landing craft, each carrying over 60 tons of payload at up to 40 knots. The images and text below are from the 1/350 USS Wasp LHD-1 review. | |||||||
LCAC x2 | |||||||
Each LCAC model is made of 3 sprues, WB1, WB2 and WC. These are also impressive little kits, and look to be well detailed. The deckhouses in particular carry an impressive amount of detail. Like some of the larger scale versions availble, these also only have an inflated skirt option, but unlike those, the skirt on this model is molded in hard styrene. |

CONCLUSIONS | |||||||
These 1/350 LCAC's are a neat little kit in and of themselves, and could be a fun weekend project. Thanks to MRC for this review sample. Gallery Models is a new line exclusively imported into the USA by MRC. |
