1/700 British 4.5in/45 Barrels

Master Model has released a set of 1/700 brass barrels for British 4.5in/45 QF Mk I, III and IV guns. These weapons were found Royal Navy ships such as the carrier Ark Royal, the battlecruiser Renown, and certain units of the Queen Elizabeth class battleships.

THE BARRELS

There are eighteen barrels included in the package. They are very small and very finely machined, with the muzzles of the barrels open.

INSTRUCTIONS

The instructions are on one small piece of paper, folded into the package. They tell you which ships carried these weapons, and how to replace the plastic barrel with the brass barrel.

CONCLUSIONS

These barrels are very nice. As the photos show, they really are a big improvement on the plastic barrels found on the kit parts. If you want to upgrade the armament on your Royal Navy capital ships, you'll want these barrels. They retail for around $6.00, and are available from many of our fine sponsors.
