The 5"/62 is an upgraded version of the 5"/54 with a longer barrel and designed to fire the now cancelled Extended Range Guided Munition (ERGM). This weapon is equipping the later DDG-51 Arleigh Burke Flight IIa class, the JMSDF Kongo class, and is a part of the CG-47 Modernization (Flight II) program started in 2007, as well as the Korean KDX II class. |
