This is a simple accessory pack. The barrels come from
L'Arsenal cast in their typical light tan resin, 10 to a runner, 3 runners
in the pack, for a total of 30 barrels. Attachment points for the barrels
are on the bottom, meaning that after a quick cut and flush sand, all "construction"
is done. All of the barrels in my sample are well-cast, blemish and air
bubble free, and nicely detailed. The raised ridges about the circumference
of the barrels are visible and straight, and there are small inlet/outlet
spouts just visible on the recessed tops.
A quick check online shows that a 55 gallon barrel/drum at 35 inches should be 4.5mm in 1/200 scale. These barrels come out at about 4.7mm, which is perfectly fine in my book. There are no instructions included, but none are needed, as there are millions of photos of 55 gallon drums online for painting ideas. |

CONCLUSIONS | ||||
The
L'Arsenal 55 gallon barrels/drums are a nice little accessory for your
1/200 scale diorama. Cleanly cast, easy to clean up and paint, they'll
do nicely to add clutter to your ship's in-port or underway replenishment
dioramas. Recommended.
Thank you to L'Arsenal for the review sample. |
