| According to
Wikiepedia: "The New Orleans-class
cruisers were a class of seven heavy cruisers
built for the United States Navy in the 1930s. These
ships participated in the heaviest surface battles of
the Pacific War. Astoria, Quincy, and Vincennes
were all sunk in the
Battle of Savo Island, and three others were
heavily damaged in subsequent battles in the Guadalcanal
campaign. Only Tuscaloosa, which spent most of
the war in the Atlantic, got through the war without
being damaged. Collectively, ships of the class earned
64 battle stars. The four surviving ships were laid up
immediately after the end of the war, and sold for scrap
in 1959."
Red Devil Designs offer numerous upgrades for the New Orleans-class cruisers, including this set of funnels. |

| My funnels were part of
a larger order, so they were package together with other
items, taped to the lid of an upside down plastic
container.
There are two funnels per print raft. The details on these are very good - there are finely printed ladders, grills for the funnel tops, piping, platforms, and a funnel cap on the forward funnel. |

| CONCLUSIONS | |||||||||
| Regardless if you are building one
of the older resin New Orleans-class kits, or
the later injection molded kits of USS San Francisco,
these funnels will be a nice upgrade to whichever model
you happen to build.
This is Red Devil Designs, 1/350 3D Printed New Orleans-class funnels (x2). They are priced at $13.95 USD per set, and are available directly from Red Devil Designs, via their eBay Store. That is where I purchased mine (along with a host of other items). Highly recommended. |
