Ship's chain has always been a challenge for model
makers. Fine brass jewelry chain lacks the horizontal
studs needed, and is rarely small enough to pass for
1/700 scale. There are photoetch versions, but they,
obviously, lack the needed 3D dimensions.
Enter 3D printing. I ordered several items for an
upcoming project off of eBay out of China, and added
this chain set to my cart just to see how it looked.
Turns out, it's quite impressive. Printed at 1.15mm
length and .65mm wide for each link, the chain is
extremely fine, and includes the horizontal stud.
Printed in a very dark gray, it won't require much
paint, if any at all. With two lengths at 52mm long,
there's enough chain in one box to outfit more than one
model.

This is a great accessory to add more texture and
realism to your ships. Bunker Studio also offers the
same chain in 1/350th and 1/200 scale.
Review sample courtesy of my "ooh, that looks cool"
spending impulses while shopping on eBay. I paid $12
plus shipping for the set. I wasn't able to find a
dedicated website for Bunker Studio, but their products
are all over eBay, and site sponsor Freetime Hobbies
stocks their items.
Highly Recommended.
