Black Cat Models from France has sent us some of their latest products.   One of those to arrive is set AC350104, 4in/50 gun on semi enclosed mount (x4)

According to the NavWeaps website, "These guns were first used as secondary guns on the Arkansas class monitors and then on nearly all of the "Flush-Deck" destroyers as well as on many submarines. Well-liked on the latter ships, as its light weight made it easy to handle, an important factor on a small ship."

THE 4in/50cal GUNS
The packaging is the usual plastic clamshell container, with three print rafts containing the 3D printed parts attached to the bottom of the packaging with double sided tape.   There are a total of four (4) weapons in the package, the parts being broken out with one print raft holding the mounts, one holding the guns and one the shields.

The gun mounts are finely detailed, with seats and handwheels.   The guns themselves are also very nice, with open muzzles on the barrels and a very, very fine handle on the breech of the gun.   The gun shields are thinly printed with some fine raised detail on the fronts of the shields.   There are some faint print lines on these parts, mostly on the sides of the shields.   Hopefully this will be covered when painted.

Close ups of some of the parts details.

INSTRUCTIONS

There are no instructions in the box, but the packing directs you to the Black Cat Models website.   There, on a data page for the particular item, you will find a PDF on how to remove the printed supports that are part of the 3D printing process, and also how to assemble the weapons.

CONCLUSIONS
A very useful accessory from Black Cat Models, especially for those of you (like me) who have other manufacturers (older) releases of four stacker destroyers in the stash.  These are very well detailed, and will be a nice upgrade to the original parts in those kits.

This is Black Cat Models set AC350104, 4in/50 gun on semi enclosed mount (x4). The set retails for about $9.15 USD, and are available directly from Black Cat Models, who kindly provided this review sample, or from some of our other fine sponsors.   Highly recommended.
