Black Cat Models from France continues with their line of 3D printed 1/350 accessories with the M2 Browning twin with gunner, on tripod, modern version (x6), AC350056d.

THE M2 twin Browning

The packaging is the typical Black Cat clear plastic clamshell container, with very sticky double-sided tape to hold the parts in place.

There are 6 standing figures and 6 tripod mounted twin .50 caliber machine guns. These are the modern version of the twin .50’s as can be seen on navweaps.com here.

The machine guns, tripod mount, splinter shield and ammo cans are printed as one piece. The elevation of the guns is fixed and can’t be adjusted by the modeler. The printing is extremely well done, and the barrels and tripod legs are extremely fine. There is even a gap between the fixed ammo belts and the can, as can be seen a couple of the images.

Gunners are molded separately from the MG’s, and all are in the same standing pose. As seems to be the case with Black Cat figures, the faces are somewhat featureless, but should look fine once painted. The figures are wearing helmets and since these are modern mounts, I would assume they are wearing a bullet proof vest like in the linked picture above as opposed to a life jacket.

There are no instructions in the box, but they can be accessed on the Black Cat web site by going to Accessories – 1/350 US Navy and finding them in the list.

CONCLUSIONS

These twin .50’s are little gems, and with the gunners molded separately, they will look great on a full hull static display model or on your busy at sea display of a CG or DDG traversing the Strait of Hormuz escorting a CVN.
