| Black Cat Models from France continues to release new 3D printed accessories. Among the latest releases is a set of 1/350 figures, WWII US Sailors Set No2 (x60), set AC350047b. | |||||||||

| The packaging is Black Cat's typical
plastic clamshell container. The 3D printed runner containing
the figures is secured to the bottom of the packaging with thick double
sided tape, which prevents the runner from moving during shipping.
I've found that in recent shipments it's been easier to remove from the
tape, to review the product more closely.
Inside you'll find sixty (60) 3D printed figures in various poses. All the figures are wearing helmets, as if at battle stations. Some are walking, some standing, some reaching, some are carrying what look like duffle bags. Other than the helmets, the features are non-descript and soft, and have what look like very pronounced pectoral muscles. I'm not sure if that is supposed to represent a kapok vest or shirt pockets. However, in 1/350 scale, these should suffice and once painted, look the part. I've used the figures from NorthStar models in the past, and while those have more definition to their figures, they are very brittle and difficult to remove from the printing wafer. I'm interested to see how these compare. |

| CONCLUSIONS | |||||||||
| These 3D printed figures aren't the most detailed
item I've reviewed from Black Cat. As mentioned above, the details
on the figures are soft and not sharply defined. However, once painted
and on crewing the newest member of your scale navy, I'm thinking they
will look fine. I plan to try them out on an upcoming waterline
build to see how they look.
