More new items from Black Cat Models of France have arrived. Among the latest releases is a pair of stockless anchors for US Navy battleships, U.S. Navy battleship anchors. | ||||||

The packaging is Black Cat's typical
plastic clamshell container. The 3D printed runner containing
the two anchors is secured to the bottom of the packaging with thick double
sided tape, which prevents the runner from moving during shipping.
For the first time ever, my sample was damaged. I can't say
if it happened in transit or if I somehow crushed the container and didn't
realize it.
Either way, the pair of anchors were laying inside the container, having broken off the runner. The anchor shackles at the tops of each anchor were broken off (but laying on the double sided tape), and the shank on one anchor is bent at an odd angle. Regardless of the damage, detail is good, there are even the small holes on each fluke, as seen in photos of real anchors. |

CONCLUSIONS | ||||||
As with previously reviewed Black Cat products,
the print quality is really good. These will be an upgrade over kit
supplied anchors, especially on some of the earlier USN battleship kits.
This is Black Cat Models set AC350032b, U.S. Navy battleship anchors. The pair retails for about $5.50 USD, and is available directly from Black Cat Models or from some of our sponsors. Recommended. Thanks to Black Cat Models for the review sample. |
