Classic Warships is back with another Warship Pictorial. This one covers the South Dakota battleships. All four ships in the class are featured in color and black and white photos. With the release of the Trumpeter 1/700 and 1/350 kits, this book will prove to be a popular subject. |

Like his other books Steve Wiper has dug up some of the best high resolution photos available. Many I have not seen before in print. The photos are sharp and clear and include captions pointing out the significance of each subject. The ships are covered from their construction to their demise. | click to

There are even some stunning photos of the damage inflicted
on the South Dakota during the battle of Guadalcanal. Each major refit
the ships received is covered and the changes are documented visually.
The color photos are really sharp and make a good reference for modelers
who are wanting to pain their ships in the most realistic manner.
