Classic Warships is now offering this book from Clayton Naval Aviation Publishing on the USS Midway. | |||||
The book is divided into twelve sections covering everything from Design and Constructions to the Final Operations. Her career as a straight deck carrier and her reconstruction are well documented in photos and text. The photos are high quality and are all well captioned. You get a look inside the hanger deck and plenty of views showing the many airwings on deck. There are detailed listings of the airgroups and aircraft that were operated over her entire career. | click to

Conclusions:
This book reminds me of a Cruise book, but covers all the cruises in great detail. It is a treasure trove of information on this famous carrier. This book is 160 pages in soft cover format with over 190 B&W photos, 4 in color. It has a list price of of $30.00. Whether you are a model builder or a historian, this book belongs in your library or even on the coffee table. I got mine from Classic Warships Publishing. Stever Wiper carries this and many other Naval Theme books. Links: |
