The Tico Class Cruisers II Vol. 35

Reviewed by Timothy Dike
This new CD from Ray Bean is a companion to the original Tico Class CD Vol. 9. It includes over 150 new images of these Aegis class cruisers, most never published before. There are all kinds of views, overall, dramatic at sea photos, and close up detail views that will clearly show what all the little details are.

A sampling of images is shown below. Please note that all these have been reduced in size and formatted for the web.

The images on the CD are print quality and range in size from 168 kilobytes to 3 plus megs and sizes typically around 3600 pixels wide. To view the images just pop in the CD and display them using your computers file browser just like images on your hard drive.
The image on the right was resized to make it easier to view on the web. I cropped out a section of the image at it's original size to show a portion of the image actual size relative to the resized web version. As you can see the image is large enough to determine what colors to paint the uniforms on the crew.
BONUS
There are 37 brand new never published photos of the USS Long Beach included on this CD. They include all kinds of overall and detail shots. There is even stunning photos of a scratchbuild model of the Long Beach included.
CONCLUSIONS
Currently  Ray D. Bean has over 45 volumes of photo CD's available. There are other titles on  other Navy subjects both modern day and all the way back to the Dreadnoughts. If you like to superdetail your ships and need a good reference, then this is just the tool you need. This one runs $25 and is available direct from Still Motion Photographics. A must have for the Ticonderoga class model builder.
