Shipcraft #7
British Battlecruisers
of the Second World War
by Steve Backer

reviewed by Timothy Dike

Shipcraft has released number 7 in it's series of books for ship modelers. This one features the British Battlecruisers of world war two. Written by Steve Backer this book is a wealth of information on these ships, their design, and models that can be used to build them. As with the other Shipcraft books, this one covers the design of the various Battlecruisers and their service during the war.
The text is well written and exhaustive in detail. The section on the kits available gives reviews of all the known kits in the various scales. The reviews will give you a good idea of what to expect from each kit and what you build from it. Another section covers built up ships from some of the best ship modelers. These are well photographed and presented in full color.
My favorite section features plans and color profiles showing many of the British Battlecruisers. The drawings are well done and are sharp and clear. The color profiles show the colors these ships wore at various times in their careers.
Conclusions:

If you a fan of the British Battlewagons then this is a must have book. This book  provides the perfect guide of what's available in the kit world. The reference pictures and historical background will certainly help in building an accurate scale version.
