Russian Cruiser Varyag Photo CD

Reviewed by Sean Hert
HISTORY

SeaPhoto's latest release is of the Russian missile cruiser Varyag, the flagship of the Pacific fleet. Varyag paid a port visit to San Francisco in June of 2010, where these pictures were taken. This extensive coverage of Varyag encompasses over 700 images from various angles and locations. Some were taken at sea, on Varyag's approach to San Francisco, others from the Golden Gate Bridge, and most exciting for the modeler are those taken from the pierside and while on board. There are images on this CD of items never before seen in such detail and clarity.

There are many high-quality detail shots of equipment, fittings, weapons and sensors, as well as great coverage of the Ka-27 ASW helicopter carried by Varyag. The images on the CD are sorted into folders based on where the image was taken (at sea, pierside, etc) and then further sorted into folders based on subject matter. The CD is very easy to navigate around using any normal viewing methods on your personal computer. Please note that these CDs will work on PC systems only, not Mac!

All these high-resolution images are at least 1700 pixels wide, and are suitable for printing. Here are a few sample, much reduced in quality.
