This book is the first in a series of books covering some of the famous ships of war. This one covers the Battleship West Virginia from beginning to her end.
The book include a large number of photo's showing the WeeVee. at all times during her career from her prewar years, through her Pearl Harbor ordeal, to her modifications and upgrades. There are extensive pictures showing both the damage from the attack and the resulting repairs that returned her to service.

Besides the photos there are color renderings such as the one on the right showing the contrast between her 1941 Pearl Harbor appearance and her 1944 late war fit. Plans are also included showing her prewar fit in plan and elevation.
Her reconstruction is well documented in photo's and text showing the many changes she underwent during her career.
