In case you haven't picked up your copy yet, here is a
look inside the latest issue of Model Ship Journal, and a sample of some
of the articles included. This is a special issue devoted to the Rescue
ship that served throughout history. There are a number of features recognizing
them for their unsung contribution to history.

The Edna G. "A coal burning steam tugboat of 1896" by Albert C.
Blevins. The story of this little boat is covered in both text and
photo's. With a nice 1/96 buildup of the prototype. A dramatic painting
of the real ship is included by Len F. Tantillo.
USCGC Dallas (WHEC-716) by Kieth Bender is the story of the Coast Guard Cutter also featured on the cover. There are a number of stunning photo's showing the details on this ship. Pierre Loti a review by Victor Baca covers this neat little French lifeboat by Heller. USCGC Chinook (WYTM-96) Is this months Plan and Photo Feature with a number of great detail photo's like the one on the right, as well as two pages of plans showing the planelevation |
