I just wanted to share two hidden gems with the warship modeling community. They are wood models of the French carrier Bearn and the HMS Nelson. They are located in an unlikely museum: Kings Park Heritage Museum, on Long Island, NY. I first saw them a few times in the 1960s and 80s in the Vanderbilt Museum, Centerport, NY. Apparently they were built in the 1920s or 30s and owned by William K. Vanderbilt. They look like 1/96 scale. They are in excellent condition. The Heritage Museum is in a school and owned by the school district.Sorry about the quality of the photos, but they are under glass, and the museum is very crowded.
