South Street Seaport Museums 14th Annual Ship and Boat Model Festival-
2006
South Street Seaport Museum holds a
model boat show every year the first weekend of August. A lot of the
exhibited models are wooden kits or scratch builds, and quite a few large
scale R\C boats can be found.
I made an
afternoon trip to the Seaport on Saturday the 5th of August and took the
following photos. There were some great models to be seen, my personal
favorite one being the small scale diorama of the whaler Essex, complete
with scale whales munching down on the ship's boats (I have no idea of the
scale, but the diorama was only about a foot square).I also took a
few overall shots of the 1:1 model ships docked at the Seaport. -Devin
